Did you know? Prom is coming up! And you have a right to express your gender identity. Your school may be violating the law if it doesn’t allow a female student to wear a tuxedo or a male student to wear a dress.
This doesn’t just apply to dances, either. Title IX protects gender expression in schools every single day of the school year.
In fact, schools are obligated to take action to defend you from harassment based on your gender identity. All schools, public and private, so long as they receive federal funding (basically all schools do.) If they don’t, they’re violating the law.
